21 Weeks
I'm just sitting here at work...I got everything done so I'm killing a little time. Baby Boy Watterson has been doing acrobats in my belly for the last hour! Well, I'm still feeling good! Although I have noticed that if I'm inactive for a while (ie sleeping, watching TV, etc) the muscles in my body, especially around the abdomen, get really stiff. It's like I'm all the sudden getting really old! But then I get up and walk around and it's back to normal. My joints also ache a little more than usual. This is all normal I guess. I read that your joints start relaxing to get ready for birth. According to BabyCenter.com the baby should be "about three-quarters of a pound and approximately 10 1/2 inches long. His eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed now." It also said that I should feel the baby moving all the time now and that I may eventually realize his sleeping schedule. I've noticed that he's usually awake and kicking about the time I'm ready to go to bed....oh goodie. :) I'm sure this is an early indication that I will never sleep again after he's born!
Here are a few belly pictures. I'm still not looking very pg in maternity shirts (and honestly, I don't really need to wear them yet unless I need something long to cover the beautiful elastic band of maternity pants) but some of my friends told me at church on Sunday that they could actually tell I was showing...I was like "finally!" I still have 3 pairs of regular pants that I can wear...two of them I have to leave unbuttoned...so it won't be long until I have to wear only maternity bottoms. I bought a few new things at Ross on Sunday. Khaki capris, a black and white skirt, and a cute top. I borrowed a lot of stuff from friends but I still needed a few things to wear to work since I can't wear jeans.
This weekend Preston and I are going to Houston to visit the Watterson's. We're really looking forward to it. Thank goodness we're flying! Although, because of airline miles we're not flying together there. Preston is flying straight to Houston and I have a stupid layover in Tennessee. How does that work? He's the one who booked it and gave himself the sweet deal. Whatever. We're also going to look at cribs and other furniture at Ikea. Fun! I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
I just noticed how much more food I keep around here in the office these days. I have never been a snacky person...but apparently I am now. Check this out:
