Registering and Painting
Registering for Baby = Not as Fun as Registering for Wedding
Registering for Baby = More Fun than Painting
No seriously, registering was fun. But let me warn all you parents-to-be who haven't registered yet...you walk in (and we even started small...Target) and the first thing you feel is completely dumb. I mean...I've never had a baby...I don't know what we need. And if I don't know, then Preston sure as heck doesn't know. I even printed off a list from online (half of which I didn't even know what the items were). I mean, what the heck is a splat mat or a hand holder or a pilucho? Last night we were at Babies R Us and we walked down the soap/shampoo/bath aisle and realized that there isn't just baby oil (by the way, I don't really know what that is used for either besides tanning) there is baby oil lotion, baby oil spray, baby oil cream, etc. We didn't register for any...but still... We had a great time registering for big items like a stroller, car seat, play yard, high chair. Preston really liked the "Jeep" brand items...for obvious reasons...he drives one. All high chairs are ugly.
We registered for the wooden one because it looked the least stupid...and that's what I had once upon a time.
The room is coming along. I got the top portion painted today. It looks really good if I might say so myself. :) Hopefully by Monday the job of painting will be over! Yay! (Oh, and a few people had asked me how many coats I thought it would take to cover the red...I only rolled it once and then did a few touch ups with a brush...not bad considering it took 3 coats of red and it really needed one more.)
